Landscaping Committee

Important Watering Restrictions:

There are watering restrictions in effect throughout Florida, including Orange County.  Maintaining our lawns and shrubs can be easy if you know the following:

  • If you home's address ends in a 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 ...
your watering days are Wednesdays and Saturdays only.

  • If you home's address ends in a 2, 4, 6, 8 or 0 ...
your watering days are Thursdays and Sundays only.

If you have recently added or replaced sod or shrubs, you may have additional temporary options available to you.

To learn more, contact Orange County Water Management at 407-254-9602.

As of January 1, 2009 the Landscaping Committee will be headed by Felecia Higdon.

"My philosophy is to give credit where credit is due and  I will honestly say that following in Allyson's footsteps will be a challenge because she and her team were awesome!

In my opinion, Waterford Pointe is a charming place of timeless beauty, where manicured lawns touch the shores of Lake Roberts and beautifully manicured trees embrace everyone entering this magical neighborhood.

Magnificent Landscaping and elegance is second to what we are truly known for and that is the warmth of our hospitality within our neighborhood.

Sincerely,

Felicia Higdon"

From mid-2001 through the end of 2008, our Landscaping was overseen by Allyson Friedman.  As the Chair for this committee, Allyson worked tirelessly to make sure that Waterford Pointe was picture-perfect.   It was not uncommon to see Allyson, Karen Dawson and Ellyn Siviglia totally engulfed in their work, day or night - rain or shine.

Their Mission Statement was to beautify and enhance the common areas of Waterford Pointe.

Here's what Allyson had to say when contacted in 2008:

"The Landscape Committee is on a quest to keep Waterford Pointe colorful and green with green being the operative word  There are major water restrictions in effect throughout Florida, including Orange County.  Maintaining our lawns and shrubs can be tricky.  Please remember that odd numbered houses may water on Wednesdays and Saturdays only.  Even numbered houses may water on Thursdays and Sundays only.

If you have recently added or replaced sod or shrubs, you may have additional temporary options available to you.  To learn more, contact Orange County Water Management at 407-254-9602.

This year, the committee is proud to present the planting of the Sylvester Palms around the  Fountain Key Pond area with the night lighting making an impressive and elegant statement. The committee worked at and around the entrance replacing Azaleas. We also spruced up the Reserve section of the neighborhood. We will continue to add colorful annuals around the neighborhood.

The committee worked at and around the entrance this Spring and replaced about 85 Azaleas that were not very healthy. We also spruced up the Reserve section of the neighborhood.

We will continue to add colorful annuals around the neighborhood, and hope that they can survive these long, hot Summer days and water restrictions!

Keep cool……………………….

Allyson Friedman
